Lucky Bamboo (Dracaena Braunii)

Hello friends, today I am going to talk about Lucky Bamboo.  We can find this plants on Imlek. Keeping lucky bamboo inside houses and business places is believed to bring happiness and prosperity and this belief has promoted a huge sales of lucky bamboo shoots grown in decorative pots.
We call this plants in latin is Dracaena Braunii. Dracaena Braunii is a species of the genus Dracaena. It is also known as Dracaena Sanderiana, after the German English gardener Henry Frederick Conrad Sander (1847-1920). Common names include Sander’s dracaena, ribbon dracaena, lucky bamboo, curly bamboo, Chinese water bamboo, friendship bamboo, Goddess of Mercy plant, Belgian evergreen, and ribbon plant. Although the word bamboo occurs in several of this plant’s common names, Dracaena Braunii is actually of an entirely different taxonomic order from true bamboos. In India, the plants are usually imported from China and Taiwan and resold in attractive pots and the plant has become most popular indoor plant in certain parts of India. It’s colour green and yellow. It’s length about 30-100 cm and also can be formed and roped with yellow ribbon, like this. The pots are usually small.
